Do I Ever Stay Home?
Well, yes. This past summer was a prime example. With Gary's foot surgery and recovery time with Home Health Care restrictions, we didn't leave the house many times, except for doctors' appointments. I left for the Fitness Center and to pick up groceries or go through a drive-thru for a take out order for dinner, but that was it.
Today, however. Not home much at all!
This Friday started with the regular run to the Fitness Center. I know...Me. At a Fitness Center. Not a picture one might imagine for this non-athletic, clumsy, awkward older female. But I have been going to Miracles Fitness since April. I used a 3-week boot camp to get started, then decided the high fee of membership was worth it to me. I like the trainers; I like my group; I like the feeling I have when I finish a session. Of course before I stopped at Miracles Fitness, I was in line with probably 10 other cars at Mike's Crew Car Wash. Since we have unlimited washes, I try to take advantage of the close proximity to the Fitness Center and keep the car shiny clean!
A quick change out of my workout clothes when I came home, then we headed to Payless for groceries and to the Kinetico shop for salt for the water softener. The last stop of that excursion was McAlisters for a quick lunch. It's a good thing we arrived when we did because only one cash register was open besides the carry out pick up register, and only one gal was delivering meals to the seated customers. Three people were working in the kitchen, and one other guy was putting together take-out orders. Short-handed they were, and by the time our food arrived, the line was out the door and the one guy was going as fast as he could to take orders.
Unloading the groceries and putting things away was next, then I went to Hilary's house so we could drive to Peru for a visit to Down on the Farm. It is a cute shop with lots of seasonal country style decor along with some clothing items. We had seen a few things on FB that looked interesting so a trip there was in order. We took the new car, and she drove. I came home with two items to put in the gazebo, a new long black sweater, and a sign for the wall in the shower area of our bathroom upstairs. She had to ask for help to find the ONE candy corn item she wanted for her front porch. It's good thing we were there when we were because it was the last one---and it's a good thing they had that last one because Hilary would have been very disappointed.
On the drive home we stopped at CVS for a medication for the wart on my finger. I wasn't sure about what it actually was---it comes and goes, and it is now back and it hurts. I asked Jan about it Tuesday evening at the ball games, and that was her diagnosis. Now I have a bandaid type of sticky fabric with medication in the middle to apply to the wart area. I hope it works!
Finally in the Yaggie drive again, we decided to set up the SYNC in the Escape so that my phone could ring into it and I could make calls easily. It works! Except for the text messages. Maybe Megan can look at it and determine what steps we have missed (I think she has that feature in her car).
Back home again and we decided to take a drive to the 218 Market again. Gary regretted not buying more of the sliced ham and there were a couple other things we wanted to try.
Therefore...dinner tonight consisted of chicken salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, and sliced tomatoes, all from the 218 Market, and my dessert was a caramel frosted sour cream cookie that was SO good (and from the market too!).
Busy day. Productive day. But a fun day too!
To answer the question in the title? No! Not today!
