The Central Meeting Place

When we moved, we knew that our house would be closer to the girls' houses and that they would visit often.

We knew that along with hosting the Siemens Family Thanksgiving, as we had for the 10 years previous, we would be hosting the Christmas Eve celebration also.

We knew that because we had extra bedrooms that were actually bedrooms and not storage rooms, that family members would use our house as a spot to stay overnight after late evenings or because they came from another state for the events.

We knew that because we had a "Party Barn" that more family would be hosted at our house.  The extra yard and the proximity to other family members made it a logical choice for larger gatherings.

We knew that the kids would be here frequently, that they would want to spend the night, and that they would raid the refrigerator and the cabinets (and their parents would too!).

We knew that family and friends would just stop by to visit, to stay for dinner, and to feel comfortable doing so.

What I didn't know was how happy all of that would make me.

I love our house.  I love our property (meaning the barns, the yards, the trees, the deck, the front porch, the flower gardens).  I love that we are close to Lafayette and even closer to Delphi.

And I love that everyone feels comfortable stopping by to visit.  They invite themselves over.  They plan for meals here.  They plan parties to be hosted in the Party Barn.

They help prepare for them and they help clean up after.

What can be better than that?
