Happy 5th to Tessa - a week early

Tonight we celebrated our granddaughter Tessa's 5th brithday.  Being 5 is quite a step because that means kindergarten is just around the corner (and this Mamaw is sad for that).

Tessa chose a Trolls theme for her party.  Hilary made her cake.  Food include make-your-own tacos or nachos with some Buffalo Chicken Dip and a few other things.

This was also the first time Lynnlee attended a family party and the first time she was introduced to other members of the extended family and friends.

I like this picture of Courtney holding Lynnlee.  Both of them look like they are really enjoying the moment---except Lynnlee just might look a little bit apprehensive.  Court has had lots of experience holding nieces and nephews as small babies, so Lynnlee was safe.

I have never seen Tessa so quiet as when she wants to hold Lynnlee.  It is like she knows how precious and fragile a baby is and that she has to protect her when she is holding her.  She is always so tender with her and it is so sweet to watch the two of them together.

 The birthday girl!

Tessa loved her cake that her mommy made, even though there were cracks and the troll was disappearing into the abyss.  There was a number 5 on the top and it was her day and that was all that mattered!

And on your birthday, you are allowed to stick your fingers in the icing while Mommy is trying to get everyone who needs to be in the picture and the plates where they should be and be sure that Owen is not stuffing toilet paper in the toilet.  Besides that, icing tastes best when licked off one's fingers. Right, Tess?

Mommy, Daddy, and Tessa Rose!

Happy Birthday, Sweet Pea.  You are one very special 5-year-old.  We love you!

Of course playing with the gifts is a must.  Aunt Ernie enjoyed it too!

They can play together!

Blow out the candle and make a wish!  May all your wishes come true, Little Miss Tess!
