And in Hindsight....

I wish I had gone to the 50th.

I have been scrolling through the pictures and I have seen people that I really would have liked to have seen again..

Norman Wagner.  His dad was my dad's boss at B & W.  His sister Carol and I were good friends in high school.  He was not one of the "Ohio People" but he was a transplant, just like I was.  It would have been good to see him again and check on new about Carol.

Bill Newman.  He was my neighbor for 10 years.  We didn't talk at all, and we were not in the same crowd.  Actually I never saw much of him during those 10 years, other than at school.  There was a hedge between our two houses, so that prevented even glimpses from happening.  However, it would have been nice to check on his folks, who I am sure have passed away by this time, and his older sister, and see if he knew anything about Jim Atkins who lived on the corner and was in our class also.  I didn't see a picture of him in any of those that had been posted.

Thelma.  She and I had been very good friends for many years.  I was a bridesmaid in her wedding. She cut cake at my reception.  She and Greg lived in Lafayette when he was working on his master's degree and when Michelle was born.  We used to meet them for dinner and have picnics.  After they moved to Iowa we drove out there to visit with Megan so she and Michelle could visit some--they had been penpals and had corresponded for several years.  I even went out by myself for a few days to visit.  But we drifted apart in the last few years.  However....Gary knows Greg and it would have been someone for him to talk to during the festivities rather than sitting by himself.

Nancy - Nancy and I were friends in high school but not close.  However, she and I reconnected at Women of Joy in 2018 and it was like we were catching up from where we left off.  It would have been nice to see her again.

Luonna - Charlie had told me that she had stopped to visit with Susan and that she was dealing with a diagnosis of cancer.  From the pictures I saw, she had had chemo or radiation because she was very thin and her head was covered with a turban.  It would have been good to see her again.

Steve Curtis - He is a crazy guy, always laughing and having fun. His granddaughter has participated in Academic Super Bowl competitions at Purdue and he and his wife have attended them.  He always contacts me either after the fact or too late for us to make plans to meet them.  It would have been fun to see him.

Curt Knight - He lived close to Uncle Bob and Aunt Dorothy.  He married Boni Debacher who was a sister to Don who was also in our class.  Someone told me that he had had a brain tumor.  Not sure what his status is, but he was in a wheel chair. I would have liked to have seen him too.

John Bach - he and I were the two redheads in the class.  His sister was in Greta's class. I am sure it would have been interesting to catch up with him.

Cheryl, Sidney, Linda, Sherry, Glenda, Zelma, Mike, and many more I would have enjoyed seeing again and visiting with.

Regrets.  And my hesitation stemmed from not feeling like I was a part of them during our time together.  Maybe I was wrong.  Maybe I should have given everyone a chance to forget the past and communicate in the present.
